This position is a non-exempt, full-time, benefitted position.
Anticipated schedule: Day shifts
Starting pay range: $31 – 44.88/hour, DOE.
A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for permanent, full-time hire, with a 2-year service agreement.
Responsibilities:
- Provides direct nursing care in accordance within established scope and standards of practice, and with the policies, procedures and protocols, values, and mission of the healthcare organization.
- Conducts and documents thorough assessments of patients' health status before, during, and after chemotherapy infusion sessions. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Safely administers simple to complex infusion therapy for chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy treatments.
- Monitors and document vital signs, symptoms, and overall response to treatment.
- Monitors for and manages side effects, both acute and chronic, and documents appropriately.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including discharge needs, initiating referrals for physical, financial, spiritual, and psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Validates and documents patient and family understanding of teaching
- Implements and monitors patient care plans.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives
- May precept student nurses and new hires.
- Maintains professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.
- Will float between oncology/infusion and wound care departments
