Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Summary: The Registered Respiratory Therapist under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, Shift Supervisors, provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as stated in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual. Essential Generic Job Functions (List in order of importance): 1. Providing respiratory therapy under medical direction, in the education, treatment, management, & diagnostic evaluation and care of patients in the hospital with deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system. 2. Performing Intubation assistance as well as Ventilator set-up & management. 3. Gathering all information necessary to properly evaluate the patient’s needs, including patient specific disease education as well as testing and consultations with other health care professionals, as appropriate.

Knowledge, Education and Skills Required: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.

Required Certification/Licensing: 1. Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license and Registered Respiratory Therapist is required 2. BLS/CPR by American Heart Association, ACLS, and PALS required
