-Analyzes evaluation test results to determine a plan of care to include appropriate interventions, goals, expected intensity, duration of therapy, and recommendations for discharge.
-Provides education to patient and caregiver regarding purpose of activity, use of equipment, home exercise and activity.
-Performs regular re-examinations, measures outcomes, and seeks feedback from patient, caregiver, and patients’ interdisciplinary medical team.
-Develops and modifies treatment programs to meet the changing needs of the patient.
-Oversees the clinical work of the Occupational Therapy Assistant and Rehabilitation Aide.
-Manages multiple patients at the same time.
-Provides services and required documentation in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
-Participates in outside continuing education and incorporates information into practice.
-Performs other dues as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
-Eighteen (18) months experience as an Occupational Therapist in an acute healthcare system environment.
-Experience with a range of diagnoses including general medicine, orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary.
-Acute Rehabilitation Unit: Demonstrates competency in Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Quality Reporting Program (IRF QRP).
-May require travel to patent’s home for home evaluation.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
-Completes mandatory stroke specific education requirements for certification.
-Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of California.
-Current BLS Certification.
